My one month old son barely sleeps?
My one month old son barely sleeps. If he does, it’s certainly not for 2-3 hours!
He comfort sucks ALOT. I breast feed him, and if I put him in his bassinet whilst he’s still sleepy, he screams. If I let him fall asleep on my breast and place him in 15-20 minutes later, he wakes up 10 minutes later crying again. The only time I can get him to sleep anywhere near 2 hours is if he falls asleep, and then I go to sleep as well, then he’ll wake to a wet nappy which is barely over an hour.
I’ve tried a shirt in the bassinet, i’ve tried putting him in his electric rocker, i’m just not sure what else to do. He’ll wake up and be very alert for hours, just gently suckling away looking up at me.
He doesn’t have bad wind, has only ever thrown up once and doesn’t get much gas.
Is this just a clingy period? I’m not sure what else to do except cradle him in my arms. I even bought a sling so I could slip him in it just to get things done ie dinner started etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Breast feeding mommies- do you always burp your baby after nursing?
Mainly during night feedings I hate to stir my baby and burp her after nursing because it wakes her and she won’t go back to sleep. She’ll be in cradle nursing position then I sit her up to burp her. If I could just place her in her bassinet shed stay zonked out. I’d heard breast fed babies didn’t need to be burp like bottle fed babies (don’t get as much air) Can we get by without burping just at bight feedings?
